questions from our clients before starting a project

You will not need planning permission for extending up to 6 metres from your existing property, under the new legislation. However, you will still need to satisfy building regulations by law. We’d be pleased to advise on this. For the vast majority of house extensions and conversions, the answer is yes. We will plan works to ensure disruption and inconvenience to you is kept to a minimum. We’ll also cover and protect your home from dust and debris, and only take down utilities when absolutely necessary.

You can demolish a load bearing wall. First, you will need a structural engineer’s calculation, and this should be submitted to your local building control department for approval.

Yes, we can. If you have already had your project designed, and just need someone to build it according to your plans, we can help.

Yes, Hewitt Developments Ltd has full liability insurance up to 2 million pounds to cover us for any work undertaken
